Busy Weekend on the Island



Another busy time here on Pine Island!

FRIDAY, MARCH 4:
PAJAMA NIGHT at the Pine Island Elks Lodge, Pine Island Center. Members and their guests are invited to enjoy fun, music and surprises.  Prizes awarded for most outrageous pajama wear. For information call Jim Flanders at 603-345-4946.
MUSIC AT OLDE FISH HOUSE in Matlacha, 1PM, with Kip Lawrence and Michelle.

SATURDAY, MARCH 5:
If you missed the opportunity to toss a dead fish last weekend (the Mullet Toss), this weekend you can participate in the RUBBER DUCK RACE, at Woody’s in St. James City. This fundraiser is sponsored by the Calusa Land Trust, and festivities begin at 12 noon. In addition to the race, that begins around 4 PM, there will be live music, games, raffles, and auctions to fill the afternoon. Numerous prizes will be awarded to many ducks as they cross the finish line. For tickets or information, call 282-9300.
VETERANS BENEFIT at Pine Island Elks Lodge, 6 PM for prime rib dinner, followed by Bob Betz and performers. Proceeds benefit veterans and veteran projects. Tickets available at the Lodge, $20.
BLOOD DRIVE at Pine Island Moose Lodge in memory of “Hutch”, 8 AM to 1 PM. For information call 343-2333.
JD Designs (Joanne & Debbie) are back with their popular Trunk Show of necklace sets at Island Visions Gallery in Matlacha this weekend. Stop by to view their stunning creations that are crocheted wire and a unique assortment of beads. They'll be there on Saturday & Sunday from 11-4. 

Visit the art galleries and restaurants during the weekend. 
If the weather’s right, get out on the water – fish, kayak, sightsee. Tarpon and trout are coming in!  Take a nature tour by land or water.
