Get out and enjoy this great Spring Weather!!

FRIDAY, MARCH 25:
Music at the Olde Fish House in Matlacha, with nationally recognized slide guitar champion Kraig Kennings, starting at 6 pm. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy some fantastic music. Food and beverage available for purchase.

SATURDAY, MARCH 26:

Seafood Festival & Car Show presented by the Matlacha Mariners, at the German-American Club, 2101 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral. Hours 11 am – 5:30 pm, admission $5/adult, children under 11 free with paid adult. Several area bands will be performing throughout the day. Awards for the car show will be announced at 3:30 pm. Food and beverage sales, along with arts/craft vendors. Proceeds benefit Pine Island charities. No coolers are permitted.

Bobby Holloway, Jr. Memorial Fishing Tournament at the Lee County Fisherman’s Co-op, Maria Drive, St. James City. Adult anglers and children will be fishing for trophies and prizes. Several certified fishing captains will be taking the “Little Bobbers” (the kids) on their boats. Come enjoy the weigh-in starting at 3:30 pm, followed by a fish fry and barbecue. Raffles, and more available.

Airboat Rides departing daily at the Nav-A-Gator. Combine the fun and excitement of an airboat with the learning experience of an eco tour on our 6 passenger Airboat with Captain Kirk. Call 941-627-3474 for reservations and additional information.
Nautical Arts & Crafts Riverwalk: Saturday’s & Sunday’s from 12noon – 5pm. Handcrafted and unique items from local vendors are on display and for purchase. For additional information and to register for a space, call 941-627-3474.
Live Entertainment this weekend: Sunny Jim on Saturday, March 26th and Jim Morris on Sunday, March 27th. Music on both days from 2pm – 5pm.

Women of the Moose (WOTM) will be hosting their annual “Variety show”, beginning with dinner at 5pm, at the Lodge on Stringfellow Road, St. James City. Call 282-0453 for details.

Great fishing, boating, kayaking, nature tours are available any day of the week; check out the local guides, marinas and shops for what’s best this weekend.

Activities on the Island for March 18th weekend!

FRIDAY, MARCH 18:


Old Pine Island Marine fishing seminar, 6:30 PM, with Capt. Matt Mitchell. Flats fishing for tarpon, snook, and redfish. Free of charge. Bring a chair. Cast net lessons throughout the day. Stringfellow Road in St. James City, 239-283-2548.

PI Elementary School Spring Fest Carnival, 5 – 8 PM at the school (just off Pine Island Road near the 4-way intersection). Fun for the entire family with games, contests, silent auctions, and more. For details call the school at 283-0505.

Bokeelia Cracker Café hosts their inaugural “Bokeelia Cracker Jam”, 4 – 9 pm, 13924 Stringfellow Road, Bokeelia. Live music, hourly raffles, flea market. Sons of American Legion “SAL Sock Hop” with 50s & 60s music by the “Extrordinaires”. Food from 5- 7 pm, music 6:30 – 9:30 pm. Busy Weekend on the Island



Another busy time here on Pine Island!

FRIDAY, MARCH 4:
PAJAMA NIGHT at the Pine Island Elks Lodge, Pine Island Center. Members and their guests are invited to enjoy fun, music and surprises.  Prizes awarded for most outrageous pajama wear. For information call Jim Flanders at 603-345-4946.
MUSIC AT OLDE FISH HOUSE in Matlacha, 1PM, with Kip Lawrence and Michelle.

SATURDAY, MARCH 5:
If you missed the opportunity to toss a dead fish last weekend (the Mullet Toss), this weekend you can participate in the RUBBER DUCK RACE, at Woody’s in St. James City. This fundraiser is sponsored by the Calusa Land Trust, and festivities begin at 12 noon. In addition to the race, that begins around 4 PM, there will be live music, games, raffles, and auctions to fill the afternoon. Numerous prizes will be awarded to many ducks as they cross the finish line. For tickets or information, call 282-9300.
VETERANS BENEFIT at Pine Island Elks Lodge, 6 PM for prime rib dinner, followed by Bob Betz and performers. Proceeds benefit veterans and veteran projects. Tickets available at the Lodge, $20.
BLOOD DRIVE at Pine Island Moose Lodge in memory of “Hutch”, 8 AM to 1 PM. For information call 343-2333.
JD Designs (Joanne & Debbie) are back with their popular Trunk Show of necklace sets at Island Visions Gallery in Matlacha this weekend. Stop by to view their stunning creations that are crocheted wire and a unique assortment of beads. They'll be there on Saturday & Sunday from 11-4. 

Visit the art galleries and restaurants during the weekend. 
If the weather’s right, get out on the water – fish, kayak, sightsee. Tarpon and trout are coming in!  Take a nature tour by land or water.
